SISU Youth Services Completes LEAD-Neurodiversity in the Workplace Training
[Oklahoma City, OK] — Sisu Youth Services is the latest organization to complete the Autism Foundation of Oklahoma's (AFO) LEAD – Neurodiversity in the Workplace training. This milestone demonstrates Sisu's dedication to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for both the neurodivergent individuals they serve and their employees.
The LEAD (Learn. Educate. Accept. Develop.) training, developed by AFO, equips organizations with the tools and knowledge to embrace neurodiversity in the workplace. By completing this training, Sisu is taking proactive steps to create a welcoming and accommodating space for youth and staff with autism and other neurodivergent conditions.
"We are thrilled to see Sisu's commitment to neuro-inclusivity through their completion of the LEAD training," said Emily Scott, Executive Director of AFO. "This training not only enhances their capacity to serve neurodivergent individuals but also sets a powerful example for other organizations that value neurodiversity and inclusion in the workplace."
"Sisu is proud to be an inclusive and affirming employer and we welcome individuals of all abilities who are dedicated to ending youth homelessness in OKC,” said Rachel Bradley, Executive Director of Sisu. “Our team greatly benefited from the LEAD – Neurodiversity in the Workplace training and we are excited to be able to better support our staff and clients. Partnerships like these empower us to create a more equitable and supportive future for our community."
As part of its mission to create a more inclusive community, the Autism Foundation of Oklahoma encourages other employers to follow in Sisu's footsteps by participating in LEAD training. This program, currently available for free through grant funding from the Developmental Disabilities Council of Oklahoma, fosters understanding and acceptance and provides valuable insights into the benefits of a neurodiverse workforce.
