The mission of the Autism Foundation of Oklahoma is to improve the lives of Oklahomans with autism and their families across the lifespan.

Respect: AFO believes that no policy or program should be decided without the full and direct participation of those impacted. We commit to having autistic voices on our board of directors and staff and to actively engage the community we serve to guide our work.

Dignity: AFO believes every autistic person deserves to live out their full potential in a community with diverse healthcare, education, employment, social, and housing opportunities.

Empowerment: AFO recognizes the importance of family and then self-advocacy. We disrupt stigma by educating communities, state systems, and policymakers to build a collective understanding and promote respect for people with autism.

Collaboration: AFO values the transformative impact of cooperation. By working with other local organizations serving Oklahoma’s autism population, we build unity, foster open communication, and build more caring and supportive environments together.

Innovation: AFO recognizes the value of research and data-driven solutions. We pride ourselves on being responsive and continuously innovating our approach to meet the needs of autistic Oklahomans at every stage of life.

We envision a state where all Oklahomans with autism and their caregivers get the support they need, when they need it, to reach their full potential and thrive.
