Autism Foundation of Oklahoma Receives Grant from Expand Energy to Enhance Social Programming for Neurodivergent Adults in OKC

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

[OKLAHOMA CITY, OK]—The Autism Foundation of Oklahoma (AFO) has been awarded a generous grant to support the organization’s social programming for neurodivergent adults in the Oklahoma City area. This funding will help AFO continue providing inclusive and engaging activities that foster connection, reduce isolation, and build community among adults on the spectrum and those with other neurodivergent conditions.

Through this initiative, AFO offers a variety of events tailored to the interests and needs of neurodivergent adults, a population that sees high unemployment and suicidality rates. These programs are designed to create a safe and welcoming space for participants to build friendships, practice social skills, and access meaningful opportunities for growth and enrichment.

“The support from Expand Energy enables us to expand our programming further and reach even more neurodivergent adults in our community,” said Carley Marissa Dummitt, Marketing and Community Engagement Specialist for the Autism Foundation of Oklahoma, who oversees the program. “These events make a tremendous difference in participants' lives by providing a sense of belonging and connection. We’re incredibly grateful for this partnership and their commitment to our mission.”

Expand Energy’s grant underscores its dedication to fostering inclusion and well-being in the communities it serves. “We are thrilled to partner with the Autism Foundation of Oklahoma by supporting their social programming for neurodivergent adults in our community,” said Brooke Coe, Manager – Communications & Media Relations at Expand Energy. “We are grateful that they provide such a welcoming environment where all individuals can thrive through learning and engagement with others.”
